Former CARA Treasurer Richard Seidel was remembered in a recent issue of the Rutgers University alumni magazine with an article on a donation to the University's Archibald S. Alexander Library. Richard donated his personal library documenting the history of publishing, including a collection of books published by Stone & Kimball and Way & Williams, noted Chicago publishers active in the 1890s and early twentieth century. The collection boasts writings from Edgar Allen Poe, Kate Chopin, George Bernard Shaw, and Robert Louis Stevenson. Richard also donated a collection of the American Guide Series, a book series of state travel guides produced between 1935 and 1943. These collections will provide a rich resource for students, scholars, and members of the public interested in the history of the book and of publishing in America.

The Society of American Archivists (SAA) Committee on Ethics and Professional Conduct (CEPC) is broadcasting a Call for Case Studies for the SAA Code of Ethics:
After the SAA adopted the Core Values Statement and Code of Ethics (Approved by the SAA Council May 2011) and Code of Ethics for Archivists (Approved by the SAA Council February 2005; revised January 2012) it recognized a need to provide examples to promote their understanding and utilization in both educational and real environments. So the SAA Committee on Ethics and Professional Conduct (CEPC) is reaching out to you to submit case studies that address the various issues addressed in the Code of Ethics. Please consider submitting a case study covering one or more of the codes.
