The Little Company of Mary Sisters are a worldwide congregation of Catholic women solely devoted to making visible the healing presence of Jesus through their relationships and health care ministries.  They were founded in England by Mary Potter.  Their name and mission were inspired by Mary, the mother of Jesus, and the “little company” of followers who remained with her at the foot of the cross on Calvary, offering Jesus and Mary their compassionate presence.  The Sisters are currently serving the sick, suffering and dying in the US, England, Ireland, Italy, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Tonga, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

In 1893, three Little Company of Mary Sisters arrived in Chicago to begin their U.S. ministry and soon became forerunners in home-based hospice care.  In 1930, the sisters opened the doors to the Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, Illinois. Soon after, hospitals were also established in California and Indiana.
